New 'Heaven Is Real...' Book is a Bestseller Book by controversial Christian peace advocate Vassula Ryden shares vital messages about peace, war, and the future of our world

The new book, Heaven Is Real But So Is Hell, has hit a nerve with U.S. consumers, becoming a #1 bestseller, with virtually no advertising or mainstream publicity, but with the help of 1,000,000 Facebook fans and nearly 200,000 Twitter followers. In the book, controversial author Vassula Ryden is challenging the world and its leaders to respond to God's call for reconciliation and peace, before it's too late.

About the Book: Vassula Ryden's deeply engaging Heaven Is Real But So Is Hell became a bestseller in March, hitting #1 on Barnes & Noble online and #1 on Amazon (Orthodoxy). Vassula is an internationally-acclaimed advocate for peace and unity who's been awarded the Gold Medal Peace Prize in Bangladesh. She's spoken in 80 countries, and has met with leaders at the U.N., the World Council of Churches, and the Vatican, including the last three popes. She takes no money for her work.

A Greek Orthodox Christian, Vassula's book True Life in God has been published in 40 languages. Her new book, Heaven Is Real But So Is Hell, addresses questions like:
o What is the key to world peace?
o If God is good, why is there evil in the world?
o Are we living in the last days?
o What is in store for us, both in this life and in the next?

Vassula's writings are endorsed by highly respected church leaders ("What she says conforms to Gospel truth," says Cardinal Franjo Kuharic), as well as lay people ("Whether you're a person of faith, or no faith, you'll be blown away by her book," says S. Annunziata, a reader on B&N online).

A common housewife and mother of two, Vassula Ryden has gained worldwide attention because she says her spiritual wisdom comes from interior visions from God. Through this God-given gift, she is shown the supernatural world that affects every moment of our lives, and she understands more clearly the teachings of the Bible.

"God is calling us to reconcile with Him and with each other," Vassula says. "The divisions in our families, in our society, and between religions, are leading to our self-destruction. The war we carry in our hearts is exteriorizing itself into war in the world."

Vassula believes world peace must begin within the Christian churches. "The churches are supposed to embody Christ, the Prince of Peace," says Vassula. "But the divisions in the churches have maimed the Body of Christ, weakening its ability to bring peace into the world. Christ has told me, 'The lance's blade lies deep in My Heart,' symbolizing this division.

"I am asking the officials of the Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox churches to stop their quarrelling and permit the Holy Spirit to unite them around one Altar, and achieve 'unity in diversity'. Catholics and Protestants celebrate Easter on a different day than Orthodox Christians, and this is a scandalous sign of the divided Church. The churches need to humble themselves and reconcile with one another to unite the date of Easter. If they do this, Christ will do the rest. This unity will not only heal the Church, but it will affect the whole world by leading it into peace."

As for individuals, Vassula urges all people to reconcile with God and with each other. She warns that if humanity fails to answer God's call for reconciliation and unity, we will undergo a chastisement of fire. "I don't know if the fire is manmade, like a nuclear war, or a comet crashing into the earth. But the fire will have a profound impact on humanity. In the end, the earth will be renewed and at last peace will come."
